Big Cottonwood Creek Trail – Phase 2

Address: 3000 East & 6200 South to Wasatch Boulevard & 7200 South

Narrative:

The proposed project is phase 2 in the development of a trail that is intended to connect the Bonneville Shoreline Trail along Salt Lake County’s east bench to the Jordan River Trail in the center of the valley.  The Phase 2 trail is proposed to begin at Spencer’s Pond, which is a detention basin along Big Cottonwood Creek, and meander east along the creek for about 3/4-mile connecting to the Bonneville Shoreline Trail at the mouth of Big Cottonwood Canyon.

The trail will be paved and compliant with the Americans with Disability Act (ADA) requirements to accommodate walkers, joggers, bikers, and strollers.  The projected number of users annually is 16,000.

TOTAL FUNDED AMOUNT: $534,571

ESTIMATED CONSTRUCTION COST: $408,207
