Renovation of existing facility

Narrative:

The Kearns Recreation Center is one of the most seasoned of the County's recreation facilities.  Currently the center facilitates both sports programs and full-time daycare and after school programs.  This daycare program is the largest in the County's Park & Recreation system providing care for an average of 153 children every day. 

After years of service, this recreation center is in need of upgrades and renovations to meet current programming needs, building code requirements and energy efficiency standards as set forth by the County Council.

Renovation and repairs for the roof, HVAC and electrical systems will enable this facility to conserve energy.  Existing program spaces including kitchen and storage will be modified to accommodate larger programs to better serve community needs.  Upgrades and renovations to the existing site and building will ensure that this facility will continue to meet the needs of the community and offer programs for years to come.
