Kearns Skate Park

Wilson bowl
Kearns Skate Park
Address:
To Be Determined
Narrative:

The plan is to construct a facility in which skateboarders, inline skaters, and bicycle enthusiasts may practice and develop their skills. This in-ground, concrete skate park will take the form of an open-air, outdoor park consisting of a series of concrete ramps, benches, and other terrain specific to these alternative sports. The park's design and choice of terrain will make it accessible to both beginners and more experienced riders. This facility will be free and open to the public.

The proposed size of the skate park is approximately 30,000 square feet. Research suggests that there are some communities that consist almost entirely of one type of skate-style user, either street or transition. However, most communities typically consist of both. Not all skaters in our community are going to want an exclusive street or an exclusive flow style park. We are proposing a hybrid park which includes flow and street elements which will have the different sections of park separated by decking.
